Experience
I have tutored both privately and with the school district where I was employed. The subject areas included reading, writing, math and test preparation. The students I tutored included mainstream and students with intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, and the autism spectrum. I am a trained Reading Recovery and Dyslexia Support teacher. In addition, I have received training in Writer's Workshop, New Jersey Writing Project, Math Their Way, and Singapore Math.

I have recently retired after a 34 teacher career in Houston, TX and have relocated to the Pittsburgh area. I have learned in this brief amount of time since retiring that I will always be in this teacher frame of mind. I feel that tutoring will not only fill that void but also keep me involved in a career I have thoroughly enjoyed for 34 years. There is nothing better than seeing that light bulb appear above a student's head :-)
